MENCAFEP could not function without the participation of the children's/young persons parents/carers. The empowerment of this group of people is one of MENCAFEP's important tasks.

MENCAFEP see's itself as cooperative, run together by the children/young people (as far as is possible), parents/carers and the staff. Parents/carers and staff meet at least once every three months, with the Executive Committee meeting on a more regular basis.
Chairperson elected from the parent/carer body at MENCAFEP's Annual General Meeting.
Secretary elected from the parent/carer body at MENCAFEP's Annual General Meeting.
Three parents from the parent/carer body at MENCAFEP's Annual General Meeting.
The Treasurer is the MENCAFEP Project Coordinator, along with an elected parent from the Executive Committee.
Three staff members elected from the staff group.
Advisor to the Executive Committee is the Community Development Coordinator.

Chairperson - Mr. Subasingha (parent).
Secretary - Mrs. Nawarathna (parent).
Treasurer - Mrs. Pathmalatha (parent) and Ranji Stubbs (staff).

Ms. Suneetha (staff).
